Registered Psychologists

JOB SUMMARY:

Work as part of a multidisciplinary team at The Asante Centre, a diagnostic assessment and family support centre for children, youth and adults who may be living with complex developmental and behavioural difficulties such as fetal alcohol spectrum disorder, autism spectrum disorder and other complex brain-based disabilities. We are located in Maple Ridge and Surrey, BC.

Responsibilities include conducting the neuropsychological assessment component for the diagnosis of FASD, Autism, and other complex developmental disabilities, as well as psycho-educational and neuropsychology assessments; developing recommendations for home, school and community management; conducting interviews; preparing reports; providing feedback to parents and support team. Other duties may include participating on research teams, preparing and providing presentations and workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registered with College of Psychologists of British Columbia

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with children, adolescents and adults with an emphasis on special needs.
  • Current knowledge of the application and interpretation of a variety of educational, psychological and neuropsychological assessment instruments.
  • Ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent oral and written skills.

Speech-Language Pathologists

Job Type: Full-time

Position:  We are looking for two SLPs at the Asante Centre.  One to provide primarily therapy (a good fit for new grads or veterans), and one to work on the multidisciplinary assessment team as well as provide some therapy (this position requires experience).

We are looking for SLPs who are excited to work with children with a range of needs and disabilities.  This applicant will be an enthusiastic, creative, and organized who can work independently and as part of our already developed SLP team.  The following attributes are an asset: strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.  Successful applicants will also have the ability to organize an effective work schedule and problem solve, work independently in a team environment while meeting program requirements, and consult and collaborate with team members.

Qualifications:

  • Masters level degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC
  • RASP Certification
  • Completion of a criminal record check
  • Experience providing intervention services

Speech-Language Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a SLA in order to expand our therapy services at the Asante Centre in the Maple Ridge and Surrey offices.  This individual will provide therapy to preschool and school aged children with a range of needs and disabilities under the supervision of an SLP.  The position is full time, with some flexibility of hours, although evening work will be required.  A competitive salary is offered, with benefits and annual vacation time.

The SLA will be required to deliver direct treatment and remediation programs to clients selected by the supervising SLP as well as document progress toward meeting the established objectives stated in the treatment/remediation plan.  The following attributes are an asset: strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills  The successful applicant will also have the ability to organize an effective work schedule and problem solve, work independently in a team environment while meeting program requirements, and consult and collaborate with team members.  The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, creative, and organized who can work independently and as part of our already developed Speech-Language team.

  • Successful completion of the Communicative Disorders Assistant Program
  • Registration with the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC
  • RASP Certification

Pediatricians and/or Family Practitioners

The Centre is currently seeking pediatricians and family practitioners interested in working as part of a multidisciplinary team for the clinical assessment and neurodiagnosis of children with FASD,
autism and other complex developmental concerns.  The work may also include participation in education workshops, research activities, policy development, etc.  Opportunities are part-time, and may take place in Surrey, Maple Ridge, and even across BC as per clinician and client needs.

Applications are invited from pediatricians (for clients across the lifespan) and family practitioners (for adult clients) with Canadian Fellowship qualifications and eligibility for licensure with the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons.
