Assessment and Diagnosis

The Asante Centre provides assessment and diagnostic services for individuals of all ages suspected of having FASD.

In the Province of British Columbia, the Ministry of Health funds assessments for children suspected of having FASD.  The Northern, Interior and Vancouver Island Health Authorities are responsible for conducting their own assessments.  In the Vancouver Coastal and Fraser Health Regions, referrals and intake are centralized through Provincial Health Services Authority, with assessments carried out at Sunny Hill Health Centre for Children for the Vancouver Coastal Region, and at a variety of diagnostic teams for the Fraser Region.  The Asante Centre is pleased to be one of the centres serving the Fraser Health Region.

This program is funded by the Ministry for Children and Family Development, and a partership with PLEA Community Service Society of BC, to provide assessment, diagnostic, and intervention services to youth in trouble with the law.  Please see referral information.

We offer private assessment and diagnostic services on a fee-for-service basis.  Please see referral information

Aborignal communities can contract the Asante Centre on a fee for service basis.

The Asante Centre also provides assessment and diagnostic services for children and youth suspected of having Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or other complex behavioural and developmental disorders for the Fraser Health Region.  Please contact the Fraser Health Assessment Network or your local health authority for more information.
