Presentation by the Representative for Children and Youth
Date: Mar 12, 2010
Time: 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM
Place: Beacon Community Services, 1450 Elford Street Victoria
The Representative for Children and Youth supports children, youth and families who need help in dealing with the child welfare system and advocates for changes to the system itself. Responsibilities of the Representative include advocating for children and youth, protecting their rights, and improving the system for the protection and support of children and youth, particularly those who are most vulnerable.
In this presentation, staff from the Representative’s office will provide an overview of the organization’s mandate, with particular focus on its advocacy function. They will answer your questions about advocating for children and youth with FASD and also discuss the ways in which justice, education and child-serving systems need to function in a coordinated way in order to ensure the best interests of the child are met.
Please call (250)595-6626 if you wish to attend.
