Family Support

Individuals with FASD are part of many different families with different needs and goals.  Adoptive parents, foster parents, grandparents and birth parents could all benefit from support to raise children with FASD.  Programs and resources are available through the Asante Centre.

Children with FASD can attend children's groups to help them learn more about their emotions, communication and socialization.

Caregivers can attend caregiver workshops or caregiver intervention groups to learn more about FASD and strategies that have helped others.

Individual counselling and speech-language therapy are also available.

Please contact us for more information about any of these support services offered.

Birth Families

The Asante Centre recognizes that birth families have unique circumstances and needs.  We provide support during the assessment and diagnostic process.

We are currently developing a support group specifically for birth mothers in collaboration with a birth mother interested in connecting with other women raising children with FASD.

If you are interested in joining a support group, or would like more information, please contact us.  Our clinical counsellor is available to speak with you.
