Cultural Preservation Worker
I am a Métis woman born in Ste. Rose du Lac, MB. I have lived in the Lower mainland for 34 years. I am a Mother and Grandmother, Great Grandmother; my heritage is part Ojibway, Cree, and part European ancestry. My path has taken me from the food industry and family care giving to working for alcohol and drug referral establishments for non-profit organizations. I obtained my education in Addiction Counseling and Life Skills Coaching which led me to Residential Worker & First Aid Attendant, Community Health Work for MFCS, to working with vulnerable women getting out of addiction, homelessness and fleeing from abuse. I am an active participant in the traditional way of sweat lodge and healing circles, and have assisted others by offering guidance and support in ceremonies. I receive great pleasure; in supporting, and encouraging people from all walks of life to go forward on their life path Journey.
